Why abortion is the wrong choice

Ray Comfort and his team at Living Water Ministry have put together a powerful and moving documentary film, that draws a correlation between two topics that have been in the news almost continuously for decades.

Using the horrors of the Holocaust to illustrate the horrors of abortion is the premise of this thought provoking film. Ray gets many of the people he interviews to totally change their minds on the subject of abortion in a matter of minutes, giving the movie it's name, "180".

Over 3 million people have seen this film on Youtube, and hundreds of thousands of dvd's have been given out and watched since it was release a very short time ago. The film is also now starting to get reaction from the mainstream media like CNN and getting the attention of national organizations like the Anti defamation league.

The film starts with Ray asking college students who Hitler was and what he did. Somewhat surprisingly many of them hadn’t heard of him, or didn’t know what he had done. Some of them knew who he was, but they didn't believe that the Holocaust happened at all, or they felt that Hitler was doing a good thing trying to cleans the earth of all Jews, Christians and non white skinned people. This in itself is a very scary thing, we know that history tends to repeat itself if we don’t learn from and remember it.

Approximately 6 million Jews and 4 to 5 million non Jews were murdered by the Hitler Nazis, because of the color of their skin or their religious beliefs. Ray then talks about the 53,000,000 babies that have been murdered since Roe VS Wade was decided on by the Supreme Court, 38 years ago, and abortion was make legal. These babies were murdered because they were not wanted, or they couldn't be taken care of. Does that make it ok to abort a life because you don't want it?

There are always going to be unwanted babies, and mothers that can't take care of a baby for many reasons. There are options other than abortion. There are millions of families that want to adopt and give a great home and love to a baby. A growing baby is a person, it isn’t just an accident or a mistake. Isn't a human life worth more than the mother not wanting it? At what point is it ok to kill a baby in the womb? You always have a choice to make the right decision.

When the arguments that people make for having an abortion like, I can’t take care of a baby, I don’t want a baby, etc, are brought forward in time a few months until after the birth, it changes everything. Can you kill your 4 month old baby because you can’t afford it, or you don’t want it? Of course not. What’s the difference?

The last few minutes of the film, Ray asks the people he is interviewing some questions that make them think about their lives, what they think about eternity and what will happen when they die. Ray has a great way of talking to people in a non threatening way, that makes them think seriously about important issues affecting them for eternity.

No matter how you feel about abortion. If your pro choice, or pro life, or if you don’t really know for sure how you feel. You need to take 33 minutes and watch this film. I promise you can't watch this film and not at least rethink the pro choice view. Even if your older and abortion would never be an issue for you, it has an impact on everyone of us in some way.
