Best disc golf course in MN, BRP
69Blue ribbon pines is a 27 hole championship caliber Disc golf course set in the woods and fields of Ham Lake Mn. The course length is 8300 ft. with a par of 87 for the 27 holes.
The course is a combination of very challenging holes that require touch and accuracy. Most shots are through the woods, and the trees will add several strokes to your score. The course is fairly flat. That is a plus and a minus. It's good if you can't walk up hills easily or if you want to play a lot of holes. We always play 54 holes and you don't even get tired from walking. This is not to say it is easy, the tight fairways and several hundred well placed trees make it very challenging. If you stay out of the ponds on 4 holes, you should not loose any discs.
Blue ribbon pines is a pay for play course that is owned by Ray Jordan. He is a disc golfer and he puts a lot of money into the course to keep it in great condition. The course is always clean and well groomed.
Blue ribbon pines is open year round. The tee pads are always snow free which makes a huge difference in footing when playing in the snow. They even plow the fairways in the winter if the snow gets deep. I have played over 80 rounds at Blue ribbon pines in the past 2 years. It is by far my favorite course.
The course was designed by Tim Gill who does course design through Par72 disc golf. He also designed the courses at Telemark ski resort in Wisconsin, the new course at Elm Creek Park reserve, and the new course at Bunker Hills Park.
The Minnesota Majestic disc golf tournament, the biggest disc golf tournament in Minnesota, is held here every year late June. Check it out if you want to see a big time disc golf tournament.
If you live anywhere near the twin cities in Mn you need to go play Blue ribbon pines. Once you do, you won't want to play anywhere else.
