Body Art

back piercing and tattoo

There are basically 3 types of body art.  Tattoo's, Piercings, and painting.  Of the 3 the painting is the newest and safest.  Piercings leave marks that can be permanent.  Tattoos are basically permanent.  The painting can be washed off when you are done.  Tattoos and piercings are done by the person as a statement to something, or a tribute to someone or something.  The painting and the latest airbrush body art is done by the artist, to get their work seen.  Most of the models are paid to be a canvas.

Tattoos

I will use my son in law as the example for tattoos. He started on the chest and arms, he was an angry person at the time. He wanted the tattoos to show the evil and spirits representing his family members who had died. He became a Christian and changed the whole focus of his tattoos. His back shows what he wanted to portray after he became a Christian. If You want you can see a video testimony that tells all he went through and how he changed here.

Piercing

The piercing part of body art is hard to even look at sometimes. It looks mostly very painful. I could never do any of these. It is a form of art that is painful and I think dangerous. Infection is very possible and likely. Some of it looks kinda cool. The one at the beginning of the hub is a combination of tattoos and piercings. I don't know how you could even put a shirt on over that.  The corset in the picture to the right looks sorta cool, but also painful and would also be hard to wear clothes over.

airbrush body painting

The last and probably the most impressive is the airbrush body art. It allows artists to show off their work on a very different canvas. There are truly some talented artists that do this work. The one to the left is a paining on a back. Very impressive art work. The same people that can do this excellent work on cars or trucks or railroad cars, are just using a different canvas.

Airbrushing4u The site of a very talented artist that does airbrush body art, he also does airbrush on many other things. Skateboard, hats, shirts, airbrush kits, and even toilet seats.

Airbrush.com.au An Australian artist that is very good.

Here is one that does kid painting for parties, etc.

Very cool facepainting. This artists has some great face art.

conclusion

It's all art.  Some of it is very cool, some of it tells you who the person is.  Some of it is very disturbing to look at.  It all is their way of expressing something about them and their personality and their desire to be unique.

This is a cool hub. I have seen some really crazy types of body art or body modification as some like to call it. There are people out there doing stuff that makes piercing look pretty tame. Me, I'm in for tattoos, and I really like seeing them on other people if they're done well.

Interesting post!

Bodypainting however isn't new,it's over 4,000 years old and is currently enjoying a much needed revival. It's also the oldest form of body art in the world.
