There are close to 100 disc golf courses in Ohio. Spread around the state fairly well. The top rated course in Ohio is Deis Hill Park. Deis hill course has 3 tee boxes per hole, and ranges in length from easy 4370 feet par 57, to a long 9350 feet par 62. The long tees give you 4 holes over 700 feet to challenge even the big throwers. The course in located in Dover Ohio, about 30 miles south of Canton, the home of the football hall of fame. There are some big elevation changes in the park that make for some tough shots. The reviews online all say it's a very nice to look at course, but hard. Portage lake state park
If you live in or near New Franklin Ohio, just south of Akron, you will soon have a new 18 hole disc golf course to play at portage lake state park. The course was designed by Bill Griffith. Construction will start soon and should be open this fall. The planning and discussion about the course has taken quite some time, but it looks like you are finally going to get the course.
The course will be 7400 ft. Holes ranging from 220 ft to 705 ft. Par 61. The course will be free to play.
It sounds like it is going to be a fun and challenging course. Give it a try.
Portage lake state park
Portage lake state park offers camping, boating, good fishing, hunting, swimming, picnic area, several hiking trails, volleyball court on the beach, and basket ball courts in the camping area. It is a good place to bring the whole family and play some disc golf.
Portage lake is 2520 acres, has a boat launch with 8 parking spots. 900 feet of beach on the lake.
The campground has 74 primitive sites for camping, and pets are allowed.
Twelve other Ohio state parks offer disc golf: Buck Creek, Delaware, East Harbor, Forked Run, Findley, Great Seal, Hueston Woods, Independence Dam, John Bryan, Pike Lake, Rocky Fork and Van Buren.

Disc golf is so much fun. I didn't know it was still around. We had a 9 hole course on the grounds where I used to work. I still have 3 or 4 discs. I'm going to have to make a trip to Ohio for a camping/disc golf trip.
